This week’s drop is a wild mix of endings, origin stories, and radioactive paranoia. Image Comics is firing on all cylinders with a grim return to the Lazarus universe and the haunting, ash-covered debut of News From the Fallout. Over at DC, Mr. Terrific gets a prestige reboot that’s perfectly timed with big-screen buzz,

The New History of the DC Universe rewrites everything you thought you knew, and in case you missed it, Heat Seeker is still burning red-hot in its second issue, with covers that should probably come with oven mittens.

TRENDING RELEASES NEXT WEEK

The Eisner Award-winning team of Greg Rucka and Michael Lark returns with the first issue of their final series about Forever Carlyle. In a world ruled by the ultra-wealthy Families, each has a Lazarus, raised and trained to be the instrument of that Family’s will.

Finally free of her father’s control, Forever is going to burn it all down. Awesome, we can only watch and read.

LAZARUS: FALLEN #1

Set your Geiger counters to "creepy" because News From the Fallout #1 is dripping with radioactive dread and retro-cool vibes. Dropping from Image Comics.

This six-issue miniseries tosses us into an alternate 1962 Nevada, where a secret nuclear test mutates more than just the desert. Think The Twilight Zone meets Stephen King, with ash-colored paranoia and pulpy dread around every corner.

And if you're chasing that collector high, this one's got the goods. The entire issue is drenched in that beautiful black-and-white aesthetic that mimics a fuzzed-out 1960s sci-fi flick, yes, it’s as cool as it sounds.

The main cover like something straight out of a Cold War-era classified file, expect a low print run that could heat up.

DC’s All In initiative kicks off with a cerebral bang in Mr. Terrific: Year One #1, a six-issue miniseries that reimagines the origin of Michael Holt.

Penned by Peabody Award-winning writer Al Letson and illustrated by Valentine De Landro, this series delves into Holt's transformation from Olympic gold medalist and tech mogul to the high-tech hero known as Mr. Terrific. The narrative explores Holt's journey through personal tragedy and his emergence as a key player in the Justice Society of America.

Collectors should note the array of variant covers accompanying this debut issue. With Mr. Terrific's profile rising, especially with his upcoming appearance in James Gunn’s Superman film, this issue is poised to be a sought-after addition to any collection.

HEAT SEEKER: EXPOSED #2 (Titan Comics )

There is still time to get in the series, which likely has the best comic covers ever.

However, if you get to the actual reading, then Dahlia Racers is back, and the heat is on. In Heat Seeker: Exposed #2, the master of misdirection finds herself hunted by a relentless investigative reporter, the police, and former clients, all determined to silence her permanently. What can be better?
