TRENDING RELEASES NEXT WEEK

SPACE GHOST / JONNY QUEST: SPACE QUEST #1 (Dynamite Entertainment)

Will it be worth the wait? The Ashcan version has been trending, and there’s still time to get one. So many of us have read the comic, and it did not disappoint (no spoilers here).

If you missed the Ashcan, the story kicks off with the Quest family investigating a mysterious spacecraft held at Area 51. As they delve deeper, they encounter Space Ghost, leading to a thrilling alliance against extraterrestrial threats.

This issue promises a blend of science fiction and adventure, capturing the essence of both franchises.

Don’t forget, this is the first crossover for Space Ghost and Jonny Quest. It’s a collector’s gem.

VAMPIRELLA ARCHIVES VOL. 1 (Dynamite Entertainment)

I’ve been waiting for this one!!!. Dynamite is bringing back the earliest and most essential chapters in the history of Vampirella, completely remastered.

This volume includes the very beginning of Vampirella’s origin, including her escape from the Planet Drakulon (aka the “Planet of Blood”), and her startling transformation from alien survivor into the vampiric anti-heroine we’ve come to know on Earth. It’s gothic, and steeped in that unmistakable horror that built a cult following over decades.

Whether you’re here for the lore, the stunning classic art, or just to fill in your long box with foundational material, this is a must-have.

BLOOD & THUNDER #1 (Image Comics)

This could be a loud one, with a new series promising new characters for a new sci-fi series.

The story follows bounty hunter Akeldama "Blood" Bledsoe and her talking gun, Thunder, as they navigate a future Earth integrated with alien species. When the galaxy's most dangerous criminal escapes from prison, Blood's pursuit leads her into a web of secrets about her past, present, and future.

I will be putting this one away for a rainy day...

SLEEP #1 (Image Comics)

Horror fans, brace yourselves Zander is back with a chilling new miniseries that promises to haunt your dreams. In Sleep #1, we meet Jonathan Reason, a man who becomes something else entirely when he falls asleep. Each night, a mysterious entity stalks his quiet town, leaving a trail of seemingly indiscriminate killings.

Jonathan awakens covered in blood, with no memory of the horrors that transpired. This eight-issue horror mystery delves into the terrifying waking hours of an unwilling part-time killer, exploring themes of identity, control, and the monstrous potential within us all.

Image has some sneak peeks on their Site that look amazing, it will be a great read.

CAPTAIN PLANET #1 (Dynamite Entertainment)

Earth’s mightiest eco-hero makes a triumphant return in Captain Planet #1, marking the first new comic series for the character in decades, and it’s been getting solid early reviews.

Perhaps it could be a keeper… or destined for the darkness of the unread comic box.

In this fresh take, the spirit of the Earth empowers five young individuals from across the globe with elemental rings representing Earth, Fire, Wind, Water, and Heart. Together, they can summon Captain Planet to combat environmental threats.

I

t could be a love-it-or-hate-it comic, but you’ll have to read it to find out.
