Capping it all off is Batman Day 2025 on Saturday, September 20, when shops celebrate the Dark Knight with events, special editions, and freebies, putting an extra spotlight on Absolute Batman #1 as the must-grab centerpiece. Whether you’re chasing variants, sampling new #1s, or just jumping back into Gotham, this is the week to hit your LCS early.

Deadpool/Batman #1  The Cross-Company Chaos Begins

Get Ready for Deadpool/Batman #1, and it’s as explosive. The landmark one-shot, written by Zeb Wells with art by Greg Capullo, marks the first major Marvel/DC crossover in decades, setting the stage for DC’s Batman/Deadpool #1 this November.

But this isn’t just a two-character show. The issue features jaw-dropping backup team-ups: Daredevil and Green Arrow, Jeff the Land Shark and Krypto, Captain America and Wonder Woman, and more, including Old Man Logan vs. The Dark Knight Returns Batman, as drawn by none other than Frank Miller himself. EPIC!!!!!

Blade Runner: Black Lotus - Las Vegas #1

Set in the year 2032, Blade Runner: Black Lotus – Las Vegas #1 picks up the haunting trail of Elle, the deadly Replicant known as the Black Lotus Killer, as she continues her search for the truth behind her creation. Written by Eisner-nominated author Nancy A. Collins (Swamp Thing, Black Lotus) and illustrated by Jesús Hervás (Blade Runner: Origins).

This new miniseries expands the universe introduced in the 2021 cult anime and the previous comic arc, Leaving L.A.. With Issue #1 hitting comic shops this September, fans are once again plunged into the dystopian depths of cyberpunk noir, where identity and survival blur beneath neon shadows.

Elle’s journey takes her into the irradiated ruins of Las Vegas, briefly glimpsed in Blade Runner 2049, now a ghost city haunted by the past. Within its shattered skyline, she discovers a hidden enclave of Replicants once engineered to mimic Roman emperors and Egyptian gods for casino spectacle. But her presence has not gone unnoticed. Niander Wallace, the new god of Replicant tech, sends in a brutal mercenary squad to hunt her down, dead or alive. As Elle uncovers fragments of her origin, she may also uncover a new war brewing in the neon-drenched ashes of the old world.

BATMAN GOTHAM SAMPLER  (DC)

The Sample comic features an exclusive sneak peek of Red Hood, a title that was recently cancelled by DC Comics following writer Felker-Martin’s controversial and widely discussed online statements. In my opinion, those remarks did cross a line and appear to have contributed to the DC publisher’s decision.

ABSOLUTE BATMAN #1 - BATMAN DAY 2025 (DC)

Batman Day 2025 brings with it Absolute Batman #1. If you’ve been living under a rock for the last few years, now is the perfect time to dive into this incredible comic. The issue kicks off the reimagined Absolute Universe with a bold new vision of Gotham and its Dark Knight. In this retelling, a youthful Bruce Wayne, now a 24-year-old blue-collar civil engineer rather than a wealthy heir, designs his own armor and tools to wage war on crime in a grittier, more violent city. Gotham is overrun by a brutal gang known as the Party Animals, setting the stage for an intense and fresh take on Batman’s crusade against crime.

TMNT CASEY JONES #1 (IDW)

For the first time in many years, Casey Jones steps into a headline role with his own standalone series.

Penned by Alex Paknadel and illustrated by Amancay Nahuelpan, the debut issue dives deep into the mind of one of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ most unpredictable allies. Following a near-fatal shooting, Casey is left questioning his purpose in a New York that’s transforming under the influence of strange, mutagen-driven dangers.

Blending hard-edged street drama with the high-energy action fans expect, the book also hints at a shadowy new antagonist waiting in the wings. With a lineup of variant covers from talents like Kevin Eastman, Ben Bishop, and others, this six-part run aims to broaden the TMNT universe in ways longtime readers have been eager to see.
